This was yet another busy week in xScape Theme Framework development, and brand new xScape 1.5.6 is here adding many new and interesting features. All current themes will be updated and released during the day with all new features supported and implemented.
All current themes will be updated during the day with new framework and new implemented features.
It’s winter and it’s snowing
I have noticed that many websites are having snow effects active. And I decided to make it easy to do it with any xScape theme. New module is added, called Snowfall that allows you to add and control snow effect. It uses Snowfall jQuery plugin, and allow changing of color, effects, number of snow flakes, size and speed. So, go to xScape Extend panel, Snowfall tab and active the snow.
Third party plugins support
So far, xScape supported our plugins (GD Press Tools, GD Affiliate Center, GD Custom Posts And Taxonomies Tools and GD Star Rating). This time, I have added both xScape and themes styling support for two forms plugins: free plugin Contact Form 7 and commercial plugin Gravity Forms. Styling is included with all themes. Also, through theme settings panel you can select the way the forms are displayed: standard or with label floating left.
Plugins tab is added on the theme settings page where all plugin integration settings will be located from now on. GD Star Rating options are moved there also.
I plan to add many new interesting features to framework and for some new themes also, that require use of AJAX from the frontend side. So, for now, basic AJAX support is implemented, and options on the xScape Global Settings panel added, to enable AJAX support and to set Nonce protection string. Some basic handling is added, and it’s allowed to expand it using filters and actions. Tutorial is coming soon with some examples how this can be used. There will be practical usage example on this website next week to dynamically load post content in popup.
Multisite WP Signup template support
wp-signup.php file is practically a template that can be styled much like normal theme templates (well, not really, but close). So, xScape and all themes now support theming of this template. It’s used only in WP multisite/network mode.
Tool for settings transfer
If you have several xScape themes on the website, it’s useful to transfer settings from one to another. So far, you could use Export and then Import to transfer the settings. Now, there is a tool that will detect installed xScape themes, and will offer you to select theme and transfer settings from it to currently active theme.
Test all themes, and try them with a free test drive, for both front end and back end before deciding what is right for you. Free registration is disabled, so you need to send the request for the test account using the contact form.
