Updated Framework and upcoming Themes

Minor bug fixing version of the xScape Theme Framework 1.5.7.1 (build version is 666) is released with few fixes only. But, now is the time to announce what the immediate plans are for themes. Currently, there are 4 themes in various planning/development stages.

New framework is available via Dev4Press account panel or through Dev4Press Updated plugin for auto update.

First theme to be released in February is called Focus. I can’t give you much details at this time, but I expect t have some preliminary preview images in the next 2 weeks. Focus will have elements of both news/magazine layouts and standard blog look, but it will come with number of different layout blocks to allow you many different ways of customization. Development of Focus theme will also be used to work on the xScape 1.5.8 and I can confirm that new framework will get support for comment_form() function introduced in WordPress 3.0 and a new module that will allow adding content that will remain on the side of the main content and will scroll with the page (useful for social website sharing).

Three more themes are in the planning stages. Long overdue starScapeII will not be released for another 3-4 months, but at least two other themes will be released before it. One of the themes in planning stages will be made for reviews, and will be developed along side GD Star Rating 2.0 plugin for purposes of creating websites dedicated to rating products.

So, Focus should be released in the second half of February 2011 with xScape 1.5.8 inside.
