Hi MillaN: I have tried using the Backup tool several time…after watching your tutorial. On my Status Tab, it tells me Location is valid and writeable and backup is a go. And, both backup methods can be used. But, when I try running the ‘Quick Backup’ ….Selecting the full back-up button, I get the notice in my ‘Archives’ tab that it is in process [because it is has a gold background and it stays gold for days]. I currently have 6 instances of this backup that has tried to run and it, apparently cannot for some reason. Also, when I click on the ‘log’ icon at the far right side of the backup info row, it just gets stuck and does not show me the actual log. I have tried it both with a local backup with email, and sending to Dropbox (with and without an email). Can you help me figure out why it is getting stuck?

Hi,
There were some things that could cause the problem and that are beyond the control of the plugin. You can check the forum for more info on those (there are few threads). But to sum things up, W3 Total Cache plugin can be the problem with object and database caching, and in one case PHP was not configured properly. But, in all this, if backup is not working, there must be an actual error behind it. Can you get the error logs from your server, so I can analyze the problem.

Yes, I saw your note that W3 Total Cache conflicts…I’ve never had that plugin so I’ve ruled that out. Yes, I can go through an FTP server to get my most recent log. Where should I send it?

Best to create a topic in the forum for the plugin and attach the error log (zipped).
