For most purposes, multi ratings sets are very easy to set and use. It’s controlled via Multi Sets panel, and this video tutorial goes through procedure of creating new set and later editing it and controlling the auto insertion of the rating block into the posts and pages.
Active rating blocks can be also set to display only results and prevent voting. This is read only state and it can be set by setting read only state or by setting the parameter in shortcode or function. But, for more complex rendering there are many different methods.
Most important management panel for GD Star Rating is Articles panel and it can be used to view standard and thumb ratings for posts and comments, to adjust settings for them, delete votes and view detailed log of all saved votes. Also includes charts and other useful links.
The third installment of the settings explained covers both star rating and thumbs, and explains all their settings, defaults, rules and auto insertion. If you still need more explanations, please leave a question in the forum, and we will answer it or make another tutorial.
Part 2 of settings explained is focusing on another 3 tabs of the Settings panel. This time we learn about Advanced tab (cache, debug…), Integration tab (comments, dashboard, widgets, post edit) and Specials tab controlling Google Rich Snippets and RSS Feeds integration.
All rendering in GD Star Rating is done using T2 templates. While you can watch the video of using the templates, it’s very important too understand each element of the rendering, and what template will be used. So, this is expansion of the already existing templates map.
