WordPress checks for core, plugin and themes updates twice daily. You might wanna disable that. And if you want to test development versions of WordPress, you need a simple way to use WordPress auto update to get those versions also.
Both those things can be done with GD Press Tools Pro. Open Global Settings panel, and than the Updates tab, and you will get the options as on the image on the right.
First, you can set up WordPress update and disable core update (this is WordPress), plugins and themes. These options will prevent WordPress from checking for updates.
And, if you want to get beta or nightly versions of the WordPress, you can use the Beta Core Update functionality. Select versions you want to get and next time WordPress checks for updates, it will also report and allow installing of the Beta or Nightly versions of WordPress. This can be very useful if you need to do testing with WordPress during development periods.
