Hi,

I am very interested in the PRO version of your product.

Previously I have been using Yoast’s Simple Taxonomies plugin – details here:

http://yoast.com/wordpress/simple-taxonomies/

This has worked well up until now, but with the release of the latest version of my Headway WP framework theme, I find that it has issues.

My question is how I would migrate all of my custom taxonomy data from my site, from Yoast’s solution to yours?

I have already installed and activated your LITE version of the plugin (having first disabled Yoast’s plugin) but none of my custom taxonomies were recognized.

Very keen to fix this one and so grateful for your steer on how to switch to your product.

Best,

Paul

The way the taxonomies work is that you can’t simply deactivate one and activate another plugin. Custom taxonomies will be in use only if plugin registers them. When you disable old plugin, they are no longer active, and you need to add it with my plugin to work again. As long as you give them same name as with old plugin, they will work fine.

In any case, I have got few similar questions already, so I will publish a video guide later today on how to migrate from some other plugin to GD Custom Posts and Taxonomies Tools.

Fantastic! Thanks so much Milla.

Looking forward to those vids.

Have looked extensively through your site now – and some of your outpost on YouTube and the like, so even more convinced that you are my long-lost dream plugin for managing WP custom taxonomies!

I just need to get this to work with the Lite version of your product and I’m definitely “IN” for the pro version.

Best,

Paul

Well, I use all my plugins, and I add everything I need into them, and it’s really great that users find that features interesting and useful. There are many more ideas for new features, and as always, suggestions are welcome.

Sorry about the delay, I will post tutorial today, I was busy with development all day yesterday.

Hi again. Any more news on that tutorial – really keen to get this fixed an migrated over to you. Hoped I could use the weekend to tackle it, but just let me know if there is a delay on this and I’ll re-think my plans. Hope all is well. cheers – Paul

Great tutorial! Thanks.

Was able to migrate easily (once I knew how). Isn’t it always the way? :)

And this was really easy. Much appreciated – will put it to the test with more site content and let you know how it all goes.

Thanks again,

Paul
