Book: WordPress 2.7 Complete

Few months ago Packt Publishing published interesting book on WordPress 2.7 written by April Hodge Silver and Hasin Hayder. This is a guide for people starting with either WordPress.com or self hosted blogs. All chapters are easy to follow, with many screenshots that will help guide you.
Using Custom Taxonomies

With WordPress 2.8 we got another interesting feature called custom taxonomies. You can make taxonomies from anything you want and use them much like you already use tags and categories. Unfortunately, themes offer only partial support (unsolvable problem) for custom taxonomies, but it’s not that complicated to implement.
WP Benchmark: Administration

Here is the first post with results from benchmark tests I conducted over the past few days. Before we proceed to results, I will give more details on the methods of measurement used for the administration part of the tests. Results contain both memory usage, time needed for server to prepare the results and the total output size.

WP Benchmark: 2.8.1
Now that the WordPress 2.8.1 is released, as promised, I have tested this latest version. But I didn’t want to show the same data again, so this time I will test WP 2.8.1 against WP 2.8. Also, for some of not so relevant data I will not use charts. This post will show data from testing both WP administration and actual blog pages.
