New major release for GD Custom Posts And Taxonomies Tools plugin is here. There are two new features (improved validation and importing of terms) and number of improvements and fixes. As usual, all new features are only for Pro version.
This new release is focused on improving the taxonomies widgets. Both widgets are expanded with few more options to hide empty and exclude terms, and list widget now can display terms in the form of the drop down list with regard to the hierarchy.
First impression is that even with 283 opened tickets for 3.0 milestone on WordPress TRAC, current version is fairly stable. And also, very important to notice is that WP 3.0 is faster and uses less resources than it’s predecessor. So far so good.
With WordPress 2.8 we got another interesting feature called custom taxonomies. You can make taxonomies from anything you want and use them much like you already use tags and categories. Unfortunately, themes offer only partial support (unsolvable problem) for custom taxonomies, but it’s not that complicated to implement.
