My Collection is my new website that is made as a demo for several of my plugins and one theme, and in the same time for tracking my collection of music, videos and books I got from Amazon. Here are some more details about the website and plugins used.
Here is another very important release of xScape with many improvements for custom post types and custom taxonomies, improved recent posts widget, excerpt function, menu designer and number of bugs are now fixed including some layout manager issues.
Just a minor changes in this versions of both Pro and Lite editions. I have gone over the registration procedure to make sure that all parameters are set right, because some WP functions seams to be sensitive to the values in some of the parameters.
New version of the updater plugin is released with many important changes and several bugs fixed. This version will support new xScape upgrade backup feature coming next week, it has improved notification of new updates and updated interface files.
Currently, there are two new plugins in works. But, one of them is coming out very soon. Plugin called GD Amazon Fusion will get first beta version in about 2 weeks. Plugin will have only Pro edition, no free version for this one. Here is a bit more about it.
Sometimes is very useful to be able and use existing WordPress rich editor within your plugins. TinyMCE editor built in WP can be easily reused and you can even set some elements. Following example will work in WordPress 2.8 and newer including latest WP 3.0.
If you are plugin developer, it’s very important to give as much info about the plugin updates as you can before the blog admins update the plugin to a new version. Also, some of the plugin control panels go into different menus, and it’s a good idea to have direct links on the plugins panel also.
xScape modules are similar to WordPress plugins, but they share big code base with the framework, and they need less resources than normal plugins. This is introduction to the modules system, and tutorials on specific modules will be published later.
More new features are coming to Dev4Press soon. In cooperation with other developers, more plugins will be added to the website. These plugins will be maintained by their authors and they will also provide support using the same methods offered for Dev4Press plugins.
