Here is a new version of GD Custom Posts And Taxonomies Tools plugin. It has a new widget that can display list of custom post types with posts counts, improved post types filtering for other widgets and some improved functions.
Just a minor changes in this versions of both Pro and Lite editions. I have gone over the registration procedure to make sure that all parameters are set right, because some WP functions seams to be sensitive to the values in some of the parameters.
New version of the plugin is released with interface improvements and comparable options to custom post types and custom taxonomies. Also, plugin is compatible with latest WP 3.1 development alpha versions. Both Pro and Lite are updated.
To make use of custom post types easier, Pro version of this plugin now has two more special features for directly including posts for custom post type in RSS feeds and on the home page. Also, several minor problems and bugs are fixed with this release.
By default, WordPress allows some limited post filtering options using taxonomies. If you have many taxonomies and you need to filter posts taking into account several taxonomies, and to filter by more than one term, well, there is no direct way to that with WP only.
If you are plugin developer, it’s very important to give as much info about the plugin updates as you can before the blog admins update the plugin to a new version. Also, some of the plugin control panels go into different menus, and it’s a good idea to have direct links on the plugins panel also.
This is very important maintenance release that improves saving of taxonomies and post types and checks if the name is proper. And also, pay close attention to the messages on the plugin edit forms about the format of data needed, especially the name.
