2013 is almost at an end, and it is time to see what will come next, and what kind of development will be done in the first part of 2014 on Dev4Press. These plans will be for the first 4 months of next year. And, it will be very busy schedule with many exciting plans.
Development focus will be on Pro plugins, with majority of time dedicated to GD Products Center and GD Press Tools. Also, development of new rating plugin is in the plans (more on that can be found here). To get detailed plans list for each plugin you can check updated roadmap pages for each plugin.
GD Press Tools Pro
This plugin is in the process of major overhaul, with upcoming version 5.0. Plugin will be fully modular, with easy to follow organization of modules, less memory use and more features. Some work is already done for new version, and modular structure of the plugin will allow for faster creation of new modules and adding of new features. Plugin should be released in April 2014. If needed, current 4.5 branch will get updates before than to fix any issues or problems.
GD Products Center
This plugin will get most development time, and plan is to have versions 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6 out with shorter development cycles for each one. Focus will be to complete company pages, improve comparison pages and expand some of the product related features. Also, plugin should get modules support also, with some features developed as modules.
GD bbPress Toolbox
There are few things planned for this plugin, and this will be first thing on to-do list in early January to release version 2.1.
GD Custom Posts and Taxonomies Tools
Two new modules for this plugin will finally be released in January. Plans for major 5.0 are still in thinking stages, and work on that will depend on GD Press Tools, with goal to use similar interface for both plugins.
GD aZon FUSION
Due to many changes introduced by Amazon with getting the data for products, this plugin was left behind for a while. But, plan is to finally get to 1.0 version in March 2014.
xScape and Themes
Two new theme are coming, one completely new and responsive version of newsScape to follow, both hopefully ready for March and April. xScape 1.9 will get one more version, with work on xScape 2.0 starting but not completing in first 4 months of 2014.
That’s it for now, these are realistic plans, but things can always change and there is no way to be 100% sure all that is planned will be done as planned. But, any changes to development plans will be announced and explained.
