The April has just started, and this year, we have a very specific set of circumstances (related to the privacy and EU GDPR law) that will influence usual development cycles for Dev4Press plugins and addons.
We are already working on GDPR implementation on Dev4Press, but there is a lot to be done yet, with development split between April and May. You can read more about the GDPR plans for Dev4Press in the blog post here. So, the normal development plans will be modified around GDPR work, so the number of releases for our plugins will not follow usual release cycle.
Beside GDPR, there are few development plans that will be realized in April and May. Also, you can expect that knowledge base will be expanded with 50+ articles, user guides and references.
Major work will go into the newly expanded demo for the GD Rating System Pro plugin and addons for it. The new demo will be built from the ground up, to showcase all the rating methods, custom coding practices, custom templates and other things. Once finished, the demo will be downloadable to all Pro users, including the child theme and demo data.
As for the plugins, 3 major new versions are planned. In April, you can expect GD Crumbs Navigator Pro 2.1 – smaller scope release with few minor features based on the user feedback. And, in May plan is to release GD Topic Prefix Pro 2.0 – major release with few important new features, and mostly based on the user feedback. Finally, GD bbPress Toolbox Pro 5.2 – will be released on the plugins 6th birthday. There is no list of features for this release, but most of the changes will be based on user feedback. Also, few plugins will get minor updates as needed, to fix bugs and that will include at least two minor releases for GD Rating System Pro.
That’s it for now, April and May will be somewhat different from usual months development wise, but after that, in June we will be back to the normal development schedule, to be announced in early June.
