One of the most frustrated things when using any kind of software, is that author doesn’t fix all the bugs fast enough. Since Dev4Press (and my other websites) use plugins other than my own, I decided to offer my own patches for the plugins I use, hopefully some of you will find that useful.
Here is a brand new free plugin to extend the bbPress 2.x plugin with additional interesting tools. First version of GD bbPress Tools features 2 tools with much more coming soon. Right now, list of plans has 6 more tools in various development stages to be included soon.
Later this week, a new plugin for bbPress will be released, and because of that, GD bbPress Attachments plugin has seen some additional loading optimization and file reorganization. There are no new features in this version, but there are some interesting plans for the future version.
New version brings several changes and fixes. Obsolete jQuery drop down rendering library is removed. One of the enhanced features for post types is also removed (including post type in search results) and some issues with the select field values display in some cases fixed.
New update to the GD Products Center Pro brings fixes and improvements for CSV import and export, and product page fall back functionality (if review or user reviews are empty, and set as default page, plugin will show specifications instead) and few more things.
It’s been awhile since the previous versions of both plugins, but here are updated versions, compatible with upcoming WordPress 3.1 and fixes the problems caused by loading of jQuery and jQueryUI when not needed (issues with all xScape based themes are now gone).
As you might know, I have written about plugins optimization many times already, including benchmarks. And, it is a great thing to know that some developers have taken the time to improve their own plugins based on my recommendations. Here is the story about one great optimization.
Here is the new maintenance release for GD Press Tools Pro, bringing fixes for several reported bugs (DropBox backups upload, beta/nightly updates problems), updated libraries (gdr2 and several jQuery ones), updated translation POT file and few other minor changes.
Here is the latest update for the free Lite version of the GD Custom Posts And Taxonomies Tools plugin with small updates for the upcoming WordPress 3.4 and few other changes, including updated links and readme file. There are no new features in this version.
Here is the minor (numerically speaking) update for the plugin, bringing several very important updates and new features. Post types and taxonomies panels are reworked to improve user experience, theme templates advisor for post types added, new custom field for resolution.
New major release of GD bbPress Attachments includes full plugin loading optimization with code separated into different files for admin and front end side. Also, reported problems with missing upload error display are now fixed and improved for more accurate display.
