Coming Soon: GD bbPress Toolbox Pro 4.1

Development for GD bbPress Toolbox Pro 4.1 is underway, and if everything goes as planned, it will be released on Monday, March 28, 2016. As usual, the new plugin version includes many new features, some updates and fixes.

Version 4.1 is mostly focused on the features requested by plugin users, and as it stands now. The new version will require WordPress 4.0 and it is tested with WordPress 4.5.

Major change in this version will be admin side reorganization. Over the past 2 years, the plugin has grown considerably, and the number of features and options is huge. And, all that has become overwhelming to new users, that will get lost when open Settings panel. There are 22 pages in Settings, some of them few screens long and in some cases, classification is not done the best it could be.

New plugin version will see the Settings panel split into several smaller panels. Each panel will have grouped settings pages, and on top of that, some settings will be moved around to make them easier to find. Image shows how the new BBCoes panel looks like. Previous available on Settings panel, two BBCodes pages are now split into 4 settings pages and we still have 3 pages with the list of shortcodes. A similar thing will be done with attachments, views, privacy features…

As for other features, here is the preliminary list:

  • New BBCode: Highlight
  • New BBCode: Heading
  • BBCode Hide can now check for thanks
  • FitVids library for resizing videos
  • Some settings panel improvements
  • Posts widget checks user access rights for topics and replies
  • Enhanced statistics widget
  • Redirect non-logged users away from the forums
  • Some improvements to the Say Thanks feature
  • Several small tweaks and improvements

If you have any more suggestions, please let me know. I can’t guarantee that everything can be added to this version, it depends on the time available and complexity of the requested features.

Please wait...
