Development for GD Rating System Pro 1.2 is underway, and if everything goes as planned, it will be released in about 10 days. Focus of this version is on the easier use of filters and actions, extensibility in JavaScript and sorting of rating items.
Over the past month, a lot of questions and suggestions have been related to the sorting of posts and comments using ratings. This is now primary new feature for the Pro edition, and it will not be part of the Free edition. The main rating Query Engine will be improved and expanded to allow more filtering rules (to include terms, users…). You can also expect improvements for widgets and shortcodes. For bbPress addon, the plugin will include additional topic views that will sort topics by ratings.
This version is preparation also for the next three major versions, and each one will get new rating method. These versions are not currently set with a firm date, but, 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5 will all be released during this year, with 3 new rating methods and 3-4 new addons.
If you have any more suggestions, please let me know. I can’t guarantee that everything can be added to this version, it depends on the time available and complexity of the requested features.
