Development for major GD bbPress Toolbox Pro 5.0 is well underway, and, the plan is to release it in the last week of October, the with the preliminary date set for October 25, 2017, November 7, 2017.
Version 5.0 is planned to include a lot of changes, improved plugin core, improved user experience with plugin setup and use, improved performance and new features. This version will complete core and performance changes started with version 4.6 and gradually implemented over the last six months.
Here is the overview of the currently planned features:
- New plugin dashboard with improved information display
- Setup wizard for easier plugin configuration
- New about page with the update information
- Dedicated small icons font for better performance
- Improved settings and tools use processing
- Improvements to the plugin debugging process
- Full CSS refactoring to make all class names uniform
- Contextual help tab for the admin pages
And there are many other smaller features and enhancements planned:
- Improved attachments display control
- Improved rendering of the topic/reply user stats block
- Improved BuddyPress signature field support
- Removal of FontAwesome font from the front end
