GD bbPress Toolbox Pro 6.5 Beta #1

Work on GD bbPress Toolbox Pro 6.5 is almost done, and (all) the planned features have been implemented, but due to the changes made, it is a good time to do some additional testing before the stable version is released!

This version brings two major new features: Journal Topics and Post Anonymously, but it also has Attachments moved into the features and mostly rewritten and expanded with several new features; many more minor improvements to several of the plugin Features.

This is a Beta release, and it might contain bugs or unfinished features! Do not use it on live websites! This version is made for testing purposes on staging or development websites only. This version requires PHP 7.0 or newer, WordPress 5.0 or newer, and bbPress 2.6.2 or newer.

Attachments have gone through huge changes, and they require most of the testing time to make sure all the settings have been properly converted to the new format. All the Attachments settings are now available as a Feature on a single panel, but with a new organization and many changes in the settings (some removed and some added as replacement). Most of the Attachments related code has been rewritten and optimized. And, finally, there is a new feature available for attachments: show all the attachments inside one topic thread (includes all the topic and replies attachments) on top or the bottom of the topic page. This uses AJAX to load the paged list of attachments in the thumbnail or list format.

List of attachments for the topic – includes topic and all replies

Journal Topic is a brand new Feature – allowing users to create new topics where only they can reply. This way, they can create a topic thread where only they add replies, and other users can access and read. There are options to allow moderators to post and edit journal topic threads. It can be limited to some forums only.

Settings for Journal Topic feature

Post Anonymously is another new Feature – allowing logged-in users to post to selected forums as anonymous (without directly linking their real account to topic or reply). There are options to control who can use the feature, and options to make some forums anonymous only. This way, your users can hide their identity in some cases (sensitive subjects) without the need to make new accounts or log out. The plugin keeps track of the real user ID for moderators to access (optional).

Plenty of other new things are included, so check out the changelog for more information. There are many updates and bug fixes.

If you notice any problems, find the issues with the missing settings, have errors displayed or logged, please open a new topic in the support forum, and describe the issue, and include, if possible, screenshots or error log files.

To see the list of all the changes in this version, please check out the changelog. If you find any issues with the new version, please, report them in the support forums.
