GD SEO Toolbox Pro 2.0 is a major new update that brings new modules, new features, improvements, and fixes. Most notable new features include support for Facebook Open Graph meta tags and Links Control module.
Version 2.0 is a major update that completes the list of planned core features I had for the plugin. Plugin now covers everything from basic metadata markup, sitemap, and robots files, to the implementation of special meta tags for Google, Twitter, and Facebook. There are still more things to come, updates and improvements to make and improve plugin further.
Facebook Open Graph
This is the most important new feature, that will add series of meta tags for Facebook Open Graph protocol. This includes everything: Facebook Insights, publisher account link, site type, article related tags… The plugin will generate most of the data automatically, but you can override it for individual posts, pages, terms or user. And if something is missing, there is a fallback information available.
All this will make your posts appear properly formatted when shared on Facebook (see example image).
New tabbed controls for term and users
With the new set of features, the plugin now implements tabbed interface for individual terms and users control. This new box is made to look as the control used on the post/page editor, making now the whole interface more uniform and easier to use.
And everything else
The plugin has one more new module called Links Control. This module includes 3 features: override of default canonical URL, redirecting attachment URL to parent post URL and removal of ?replytocom query argument from threaded comments URL. A similar option is added to Robots.txt file to prevent search engines from indexing such links. There are many small updates and number of bug fixes. Robots meta module had several errors causing issues with both saving and using override data, and all that is fixed now.
If you notice any problems with the plugin, stop by the support forums to report it. Let me know what you think about the new version, and as always, suggestions are welcome.
