Adding knowledge base or documentation to your WooCommerce powered shop products will provide your customers with an easy way to get first-hand help with your products and streamline support.
GD Knowledge Base Pro plugin already has a wide array of features for creating the knowledge base and organising your documentation. The plugin works with any theme, it can be fully customised because everything is rendered using templates that can be modified through theme; it includes 20+ shortcodes for listing content and adding specially formatted blocks, 10+ widgets, live (ajax powered) filtered search, built-in analytics, feedback (with email notifications), helpfulness ratings and more.
And, GD Knowledge Base Pro is easy to install and to just start adding products and content, to organise your documentation, and if needed, connect to bbPress powered forums for support for your products.
Now for WooCommerce
What if you are running your online shop, and you have a bunch of products? Well, you can still use GD Knowledge Base Pro and create the knowledge base for your products. What if you run your shop on WooCommerce? Well, to make things easier and better, GD Knowledge Base Pro can be integrated into WooCommerce using brand new GD Knowledge Base Pro Integration addon for WooCommerce.
You can check out the features page for the Integration addon for WooCommerce to learn how this integration process works, and how you can easily connect GD Knowledge Base Pro products (and content) to WooCommerce shop products.
Protecting knowledge content
GD Knowledge Base Pro allows you to set each access rights for all knowledge base content individually: public, private and restricted. ‘Public’ is allowed to all users and visitors, ‘private’ is available to logged-in users. And, ‘restricted’ content requires some coding to add your own logic for checking the access rights.
But, with WooCommerce integration, you can take advantage of the product orders, and allow access to restricted content in the knowledge base only to users that purchased specific products. And, with this, you can have exclusive articles or user guides available only to your customers.
Knowledge base setup
The important thing to know here is that GD Knowledge Base Pro will work as soon as it is installed, plugin settings are optimally set, and you have a lot of control over plugin through settings, but you will rarely need to make changes. Same goes with the Integration addon for WooCommerce, there are few settings, but out of the box, everything is set.
And, there is no need for coding knowledge too. Default plugin layout and styling fits well with most themes we have tested. Minor changes can be made with styling updates only. Developers can take advantage of the plugins flexible design to create own templates and styling.
Start your knowledge base
GD Knowledge Base Pro and Integration addon for WooCommerce requires WordPress 4.3 or newer, PHP 5.5 or newer and WooCommerce 3.0 or newer.
