GD WebFonts Toolbox Pro 3.0 is a new major release of the plugin, adding a very important new feature for Google Fonts – support for Font Display option that will dramatically improve font loading.

Google has added support for @font-face new directive font-display with the goal to improve fonts loading and minimize issues when the font is loaded. There are various values supported, and you can select what to use from Google Web Fonts settings panel. By default, the plugin is set to use the Swap method, but you can try others.

This option doesn’t work if you use WebFonts Loader. Since the Loader has not been updated for a few years now, and it looks like an abandoned project, it is recommended not to use it anymore.

New Font Display option for Google Fonts

Version 3.0 updates Google Web Fonts list of fonts to 916. The plugin is also updated to latest Dev4Press Shared Code Library, version 2.6.4. Colour picker library MiniColors used on the admin side is also updated to the latest 2.3.3 version.

If you find any issues or problems with the plugin, please report them to the support forum.
