A brand new plugin version continues work on the antispam and registration filtering, adding 3 new filters, improving dashboard and events log, including various updates and many bug fixes discovered since the previous release.
The plugin has improved the dashboard, which has a better layout on smaller screens, and it adds another widget for banning any IP by providing IP, reason, and set up the type of ban.
Registration control has been expanded with 3 new filters, and, these 3 new filters can also be used for AntiSpam protection:
- Email regular expressions validation: you can specify one or more regular expressions to test emails used for registration and if the email matches the regex, it will be considered as a spam email.
- Username regular expressions validation: similar to the previous one, but this time regular expression is checking username provided during registration.
- StopForumSpam.com: check the IP, email, and username used for registration via StopForumSpam API, and ban known offenders with the option to set minimum confidence in the results to act.
The plugin will attempt to validate regex you write, and will only run regex that validates, but if the regex is not correctly written, you might end up stopping valid registrations. If you have many similar spam emails/usernames spamming you, stop by the forums, and let me know what emails you run into, and I can help you write correct regex.
The plugin includes many updates and improvements, as well as number of bug fixes, including once again working Live Monitor addon that has working world map for showing where the security related events are coming from in real time.
