Theme preview: Xposed

First xScape based theme in 2012 will be called Xposed. This will be HTML5 theme, it will have 4+4 built in color styles, one sidebar widgets area, one footer widgets area, static page showcase block, Nivo powered featured posts slider. This is portfolio, showcase and blog theme.

Dev4Press development plans for 2012

It is impossible to give detailed info about development that should span a whole year, but some plans are already made and it might be interesting to list them now that new 2012 has started. When this year ends, we will see how much of these plans have been completed.

Planned features for GD Products Center

First stable release for GD Products Center will be released in about a month from now, and the goal is to implement all the planned features that are listed in this post. This is not the final list, and things can change. For development after 1.0.0, many more features are in consideration.

GD Press Tools 4.3 Pro

Brand new major version of GD Press Tools Pro is here. There are not many new things in this one, but it includes huge core changes by using modules for some of the elements of the plugin. Database, robots meta tags, cron and few other things are expanded with new features.

Do you really need Akismet?

I never had problem with paying for services or products (after all, I run commercial plugins and themes business myself), and I planned to upgrade my Akismet license since they introduced the strict payment plan. But, than I discovered that I don’t really need Akismet at all.

Theme preview: Serenity

Serenity is new upcoming theme based on xScape Theme Framework. It will have both standard and Core version. Serenity is portfolio, gallery and blog theme that will have separate front page layout, soft/pastel colored default styles, it will use jQuery powered Nivo slider.

Review of WordPress 3.2

Brand new WordPress 3.2 is very important release, not so much because of the new features, but because it is a crossroads version that finally puts support for PHP4, mySQL 3/4 and MS IE6 (and IE7 will soon be gone) where they really belong: into history. Check your servers before upgrade!

GD Press Tools 4.0.7 Pro

New plugin version is here with several improvements and bugs fixed. 4.0.7 Pro fixes some misspelled words, problem with editing HTML documents with File Manager and displaying Copy To setting for the scheduled jobs along with several minor visual enhancements.

Opera 11 vs Firefox 4

After months of delays, Mozilla Firefox 4 is released couple of weeks ago. Since I use Firefox only for development, but I am really impressed with work done by Mozilla on this brand new version, I decided to compare it to my browser of choice, Opera from developers point of view.
