State of PHP 8.x support
With the yearly schedule for PHP major releases, and shortened maintenance periods for old PHP releases, it is very important to be on top of the PHP updates, and maintain both WordPress Core and WordPress plugins to properly support new PHP versions.
Keeping your web server updated, and running latest (or close to latest) PHP release is very important for server speed and security. But, new PHP versions can include features and changes that can break old code, so testing the website with new PHP versions should be done first on development or staging copies of the website. |

All Dev4Press plugins are compatible with PHP 8.0 and newer. Few plugins can throw deprecated warnings, but no fatal errors. Most of the plugins are 100% PHP 8.1 and 8.2 compatible with no warnings or errors.

Support for PHP 8.1 and 8.2 in plugins and WordPress
In December 2022, PHP 8.2 was released. PHP 7.4 has reached the End Of Life stage and is no longer officially updated or supported, with PHP 8.0 only getting securing fixes, making PHP 8.1 and PHP 8.2 the only officially supported and updated releases.
