Reputation Monitor

One of the important aspects of website security is to know if your website domain and server IP are listed in a online database like Spamhaus for malicious activity.

coreSecurity Pro Reputation Monitor can check Spamhaus database each day or week to test if your website domain and server IP is listed, and which threats are associated with them. Based on this, plugin will calculate a reputation value and show a score from A to F.

Reputation and Score

The reputation and score are based on the information from the Spamhaus DBL and ZEN databases. If the website domain and server IP are not listed in Spamhaus database, the website score will be A. If website domain or server IP are listed, the score will go from B to F, depending on number of listed threats.

coreSecurity Pro can report the reputation values, but it can’t do much about it. If your website score is not A, tha means that there is something wrong related to your website domain or IP to earn you listing for malicious activity. It is important to resolve the problem, and then request removal from Spamhaus database.

Email Notifications

Reputation is integrated into Daily Digest and Instant Notifications. When it comes to Digest, if Reputation option is enabled, the reputation score and list of listed threats will be included in every digest. For instant notifications, plugin will send the notifications only when the score changes.

Important Notices

• If your website is on the shared hosting, your IP is shared between multiple websites hosted on the same shared server. So, if the IP is listed as a spam or malware source, that may not be related to your website directly, but your website will be affected by the fact that the IP is listed for malicious activity.
• If your domain is used for emails, the reputation will include any suspicious activity in relation to the emails delivery linked to email addresses for the domain.
• If your server is used to deliver email, and it has at least one MX record, the reputation score includes any suspicious activity related to email delivery coming from that IP address.
