First impression is that even with 283 opened tickets for 3.0 milestone on WordPress TRAC, current version is fairly stable. And also, very important to notice is that WP 3.0 is faster and uses less resources than it’s predecessor. So far so good.
This was in works for some time, but due to many changes in WordPress meta boxes, I was reluctant to complete it. Now, that things are finally sorted out, Pro version taxonomies/terms manipulation from post editor is much improved. Also, WordPress 2.9 is now minimal requirement.
With changes made to WordPress 3.0 daily, there are always things that need to be fixed and changed. Here is another round of mostly WP 3.0 specific changes. But, Pro version got few more small features, and some of them are quite interesting.
Both versions of the plugin are updated and few more custom post types related features and functions are added. To Pro edition another new feature is added allowing you to display custom taxonomies as columns on edit grids for all post types similar to categories and tags.
Once again double release for GD Press Tools, both Pro and Lite are updated. Lite has few WP 3.0 related changes, and both editions got 2 new functions for getting tracking views data for posts and users. Pro edition has a new meta tag tool for verification tags.

Another major release for GD Press Tools, again with some very interesting new features. Yesterday Lite version of GD Press Tools 2.4.2 was released with added support for multi site or MU versions of WordPress. That is also part of this latest Pro edition.
As you see, GD Taxonomies Tools plugin is now renamed to GD Custom Posts And Taxonomies Tools. Since WordPress 3.0 adds support for Custom Post Types, and implementation is close to Custom Taxonomies, I decided to add that to existing plugin.
There is no doubt about it, WordPress 3.0 represents significant step forward for WordPress with merging with WPMU adding custom post types and many more minor elements that you will notices as soon as you install it. But I feel that this major releases is rushed.
I wasn’t posting news about releases of GD Star Rating on this website for some time to avoid duplicating info with official GD Star Rating website. But, since this 1.8.7 is likely to be last release in GDSR 1.x branch, this is a summary post about what’s done and what’s coming in GDSR 2.0.
