gdHeadSpace4 4.0.1

First minor revision of my mod version of Headspace2 plugin under new name gdHeadSpace4 is released fixing several more issues caused by tags integration code I missed first time around. Right now plugin looks very stable, but more changes are coming soon.

GD Press Tools 3.8.1

Only few days after 3.8, here is a first minor revision. This version adds support for Amazon S3 for uploading backup archive, new plugin tools panel, several bugs fixes, some improvements to backup procedure and updated readme file and updated requirements.

Modded plugin: Headspace2

Headspace2 is great plugin for SEO. I prefer it much over other solutions like All-In-One SEO. But, problem with it is slow development and problems with WP3, unneeded features while missing features I need for my websites. So, I decided to work on my own version.

Book: Digging Into WordPress v3

Third version of the Chris Coyier and Jeff Starr amazing book Digging Into WordPress is released last week. I got my updated copy from Chris yesterday. I already reviewed first version of the book last year, so this is only a small reminder post.

Roles and Capabilities

Roles and Capabilities in WordPress are added long time ago, but they still didn’t fully replaced user levels. Finally, levels are marked as deprecated, and should be avoided. So, it’s a good time to make a final break from them, and upgrade plugins to use capabilities.
