Tomorrow, Dev4Press website enters it’s third year. And while 2009 was warming up year, 2010 is the first full year Dev4Press was dedicated to premium WordPress development and support for both themes and plugins with additional work on many interesting projects.
This is minor maintenance release that is released to fix minor issues with saving Security panel settings when WordPress is working in multisite/network mode. Just to make sure, check all the settings again if you switched to multisite mode from normal WordPress installation.
xScape Theme Framework has come a long way this year, but there are plenty of things that are coming soon. Long list of features I have is constantly changing and updating, and I will share here some of the plans I have for expanding xScape Framework in the 2011.
Both Lite and Pro editions are here with more changes for next major release: WordPress 3.1. Registering of custom post types was acting very strange in current development versions of WP 3.1, causing a lot of problems, so the whole procedure is revised in the plugin for new way of using capabilities.
New major release of Pro edition of GD Press Tools is here, and this time it brings several very important security changes including full HTAccess control panel and 5 htaccess related features. Security status panel is also updated, and plugin also contains several minor fixes and changes.
Couple of months ago (october 2010) Packt Publishing published another very useful jQuery book. Book is written by Giulio Bai, and it contains very detailed info on how the make plugins for jQuery with several full examples and also info on many useful small plugins and snippets.
GD Custom Posts And Taxonomies Tools 2.4.3 Pro brings some changes to additional templates plugin adds for single posts and for date archives. In the process, the whole process is changed to prevent problems this was causing with some other plugins (NextGEN Gallery and few others).
More and more security related changes are now part of GD Press Tools Pro, and more are yet to come. Meanwhile, small update for Lite version that got one more feature allowing you to disable admin bar (WP 3.1 feature), that is already added in Pro version last week.
Another day, and another new version of the plugin. It includes couple of fixes and two important new features, one of which is security related. You can now disable admin bar (WP 3.1 feature) and security panel has options for checking and setting chmods for important folder and files.
New GD Press Tools Pro is not just a regular minor revision, but it contains many changes in the core classes as a cleanup operation for upcoming major 4.0. Some settings are improved and many settings are now part of new Security panel that will hold everything security related.
With new WordPress 3.1 coming out soon, it’s time to check out all plugins and fix the potential problems and compatibility issues. But, this time, job of doing that is much more complicated than usually, mostly due to the changes in way WP 3.1 is loading jQuery and jQueryUI libraries.
