Dev4Press Network v5

Dev4Press Network is now updated to new version (internally called v5). This is fifth time since 2009 that Dev4Press has been fully upgraded with new design, many improvements and this time with new plugins, new theme framework and new themes.

There are so many changes made, and it will take few posts and few days to go through everything. But, here is the overview of all changes and new things on Dev4Press.

  • Main Dev4Press website is split into several subdomains, and now it has only blog and general information.
  • Dev4Press has a new design, and depending on subdomain, using 3 new themes, all based on new xScape2 Theme Framework.
  • Dev4Press logo is refreshed and using flat design and new colors.
  • All websites in the network have fixed toolbar on the top with most important products links, information and profile related links.
  • Renewal discount for all our products is now increased from 20% to 30%.
  • Prices for all plugins are now lower, ranging from 10% to 50% lower. This affects some plugins Personal and all plugins Business and Developer licenses.
  • We have 15% discount promotion running for the full month for all our plugins and themes.
  • Login is now back into hands of WordPress, so no more AJAX login/registration that has been known to cause some issues.
  • User Dashboard is now on a subdomain my.dev4press.com. This will make it easier for users to get information about their licenses, downloads or edit profile.
  • Support website now merges documentation and uses our new plugin for knowledge base. Old documentation website is temporarily closed and all documents from there will be migrated to Support website in the next week.
  • Support forum is a bit reorganized, retired themes and plugins now have own subfolders, some forums are removed
  • New Dev4Press Demo Network is revamped on xscape.info.
  • Each plugin will get micro website as a subdomain. All micro websites available now will be moved to subdomain in the next 2 weeks.
  • Plugins have own subdomain plugins.dev4press.com.
  • Themes have own subdomain themes.dev4press.com.
  • Dev4Press Updater plugin has own subdomain updater.dev4press.com.
  • Dev4Press Updater 3.0 is ready and will be available for download later today.
  • New plugin GD Knowledge Base Pro is released. It has micro website on own subdomain knowledge.dev4press.com and page on Plugins subdomain.
  • All old xScape themes are now retired and removed from the website. If you have licenses for these themes, you can still download them and get support.
  • New xScape2 Theme Framework is released, and here it has own micro subdomain x2.dev4press.com.
  • And new framework brings 5 new themes. If you have xScape Club license, you already have access to all theses themes.

I am sure I have forgotten something, and I am also sure that there are errors and smaller issues, and I will be keeping list of all issues and fixes in the support forum topic.

That’s it for now, stay tuned for more information about all this with much more details, or just start exploring new Dev4Press!
