We are thrilled to announce the official release of forumToolbox Pro 8.0! This release marks a major evolution, focusing on modernizing core workflows, stripping out legacy technical debt, and introducing new attachments upload interface reimagined from ground up.
The latest plugin release features a significant upgrade to the shared Dev4Press Library, version 5.6, which has been slimmed down, modernized, and transitioned to a Vite-powered build system for JS and CSS. This version also debuts free JavaScript libraries developed in-house to improve form functionality, making forumToolbox Pro the first plugin to utilize these new capabilities.
This version features extensive changelog, but the star of the show is the brand new attachment interface, that aims to replace the current interface, and adding bunch of new highly requested features. New attachments upload includes support for drag and drop of files, uploading multiple attachments at once, improved limits notifications, improved files preview, improved validation.
Right now this upload library is still in development and version 8.1 will get stable release of new upload that will compleltly replace old interface and will be a default one with wide range of settings to control it better. If you want to test the new feature, please report in the support forums any issues and if you have, suggestions. And, new attachments are in use already on the Dev4Press support forums.
To activate the Next Attachments interface, do it from the Attachments -> Activation -> Interface:
Schedule topics, Private Topics and Replies have all been updated and expanded with brand new features to give you more control over your community discussions. Scheduled topics include listing of the scheduled topics in the forums view, Private topics and replies have improved subscribers emailing control. And, the BBCode Toolbar has been improved with better handling of the buttons for inserting BBCodes, and handling of TAB key while inside open BBCode to move cursor to the outsidoe of the BBCode. Signatures have new character counter.
Some outdated options are removed (bulk JS/CSS loading), several old libraries are removed and replaced, many things have been optimized and improved. And, plugin is tested with latest WordPress 7.1.
