I am proud to finally complete the first version of the brand new website called bbPress Help Club, that will be dedicated to providing help with the bbPress plugin for WordPress and forums powered by it.
bbPress Help Club or bbHelp Club for short(er), is envisioned as a one-stop place to get help with the bbPress plugin for WordPress, including common setup issues, customization of the forums, plugins for bbPress, support and discussions community forum and blog with general information, announcements, tutorials and more.
bbhelp.club
Why the new website?
Since the most popular Dev4Press plugins are made for bbPress, I often get questions that are related to bbPress, and users were unable to find answers in the official bbPress support forums or in its documentation. And, Dev4Press support forums are not really a place to discuss bbPress on its own, so for a while, I was thinking about the dedicated support forums for bbPress only. Over the past few months, that idea has grown, and the bbPress Help Club was born.
bbHelp Club Structure
Currently, the website offers a few ways to get help. The main method is simple Ask Question form that anyone can use to ask anything related to bbPress. I will do my best to answer, but questions related to themes customizations (for a random theme I have not used), are better suited for the community forums. All answered questions will be in the Answers archive. If the question can be answered using the bbPress plugin, that plugin will be referenced with the answer.
The website also keeps the curated database of the bbPress related plugins. Currently, only Dev4Press own plugins are listed, but the main contact form gives anyone the capability to submit own bbPress related plugin to be included, and if needed, referenced in the answers. Both free and pro plugins are accepted. Old or outdated plugins will not be considered. Finally, we have community forums that will be open to any bbPress, bbPress themes, bbPress plugins, troubleshooting of bbPress topics and discussions.
Blog & Newsletter
Website blog will be used to publish website updates, and also any bbPress related announcements, new about bbPress plugins (that too can be submitted using contact form), bbPress tutorials (again, contact form can be used to submit tutorials for guest posting) and anything else related to bbPress.
To keep in touch with the latest developments on the website, we have a newsletter that will be sent every Tuesday with all blog posts, plugins and answers from the previous week. And, bbHelp Club has own Twitter account and Facebook page if you want to get your news via these two platforms.
What’s next
bbHelp Club is still aa work in progress, and it will be improved over time based on the community feedback. I have a few more ideas on how to improve it, but for now, it has to start somewhere. Let me know what you think about the website, and how would you improve it. If you need any bbPress related questions, just ask.
bbhelp.club
this is amazingly generous to offer a dedicated support site specifically for bbpress ;
from the looks of it initially,
what bbhelp.club is offering is what bbpress.org should have had in place donkey years ago.
Thanks, Randall!
I will try to do my best with bbHelp, and I hope other users will be active in the community forums there. I would like to expand the Answers database, list of plugins, based on the forums activity, and create useful easy to find answers for anything related to bbPress.
thank you
