Dev4Press website has received an important update today that includes updates to the plugin that basically runs everything on the website, updates to licensing and prices and some design changes.
The main plugin running the whole website has been reorganized and partially rewritten, and now it uses the autoloading and namespace structure for all the classes. This will help with the future expansions and maintenance of the plugin and the whole website.
But, the major new thing this update brings is the changes to the prices, and changes to some of the licenses and the design for the Buy Now pages. The basic design is very similar to the old one, but the notices under the price table are much clearer and they are followed by the unified and improved FAQ and payment information.
All the licenses remain as they are, but the Agency license has gotten a very important change, and now, Agency license is expanded from 75 websites to unlimited websites! Many users often requested to include unlimited websites license (even with 75, that was plenty for a lot of uses, but I think that having not to worry about a number of websites makes it easier). So, without adding a new license level, I decided to scrap volume discounts for Agency license, and turn Agency license into unlimited websites license. And, all the currently active Agency licenses (there are only a few right now) will be automatically upgraded to the new version, and all users of the Agency license now have unlimited websites enabled for their licenses.
Finally, the plugin prices have been updated. A lot! Some plugins have been moved to different price levels (this only affected few plugins, some went up, some went down). For the most part, base prices for all the plugins remained on the same levels as before. But, Freelance, Studio, and Agency licenses have gotten significant cuts, and they now cost 20% to 40% less than before!
The reason for these changes comes from the previous year’s sales and the overall pricing practices for global WordPress plugins markets. While the overall sales on Dev4Press were higher last year compared to previous years, number of licenses sold included very few licenses that were not Single. So, these changes now hopefully make Dev4Press plugin prices more realistic.
Dev4Press Plugins Club base price has been increased from $249.00 to $299. The $249.00 was a temporary price that was supposed to change last year. But, more expensive license tiers, even with an increased base price, now cost less than old licenses.
Dev4Press pricing now covers various scenarios, that include lifetime licenses and unlimited website use licenses, and all with more affordable pricing. One thing that was also missing is now available, and that is the updated Refund policy. There was a refund policy before, and there were not many refunds requested (in 2019 there were 3 refunds requested). But, the policy was a bit more restrictive, and also not in line with the refund laws in some countries. So, now, the refund policy is clear and easy: 30 days money-back guarantee.
That’s it for now. In the next few days, few more minor updates will be pushed to the website, and if you notice any issues with the website, please let me know.
