After 3 Beta versions, GD bbPress Toolbox Pro 7.0 enters the Release Candidate stage, and the first RC version is now available. One more RC may be released later this week, but the Stable release is still on track for January 16.
Check out the information from the previous posts about the first two Beta versions related to upcoming features, system requirements, and more: Beta #1 Release Post, Beta #2 Release Post & Beta #3 Release Post.
This is a Release Candidate release, and it might contain bugs or unfinished features! Do not use it on live websites! This version is made for testing purposes on staging or development websites only. This version requires PHP 7.3 or newer, WordPress 5.5 or newer, and bbPress 2.6.2 or newer. The plugin is tested with PHP 8.0, 8.1 and 8.2.
With this RC version, everything is finished with the plugin’s development, and I expect only smaller bug fixes to land before the Stable version is released. 3 new features: Booster, Markdown, and Mark as Read, all have been tested extensively, but they are still very new, and all 3 are doing things that might cause conflicts or issues in some use cases, so I decided to leave all 3 of these features as Beta/Labs features in 7.0. They are fine to use and stable as far as they can be tested.
The new Dev4Press Library 3.9, which is at the core of this plugin, has also been completed and fully tested with PHP 8.1 and PHP 8.2 (there were some issues with the class model and inheritance, now resolved).
If you notice any problems, find issues with the missing settings, or have errors displayed or logged, please open a new topic in the support forum, describe the issue, and include, if possible, screenshots or error log files. Also, if you notice any issues related to PHP 8.x versions, make sure to include exactly which PHP version you are using.
