Progress Report #2: bbPress Forum Moderation Plugin

Upcoming forum moderation plugin development is now in full swing, and a lot of things have been done already; most of the work will be done over the next 3-4 weeks, followed by the testing phase.

So far, all the plugin features have been mapped (except for two, which are still not clearly defined). The plugin will have global settings, as displayed in the image below. Basic settings are global; they are related to the whole moderation process. And the Defaults groups contain various moderation-related tools that can be configured for individual forums to override main settings. This will allow you to have different posting rules for one forum or handle notifications differently for some forums.

This is not a definitive settings panel, and it will undergo more changes.

Plugin Settings Panels

As for the moderation settings, there will be quite a long list of options related to notifications, auto moderation, posting control and more.

The next update and progress report will be published in about a week, followed by the regular weekly updates, until the plugin is ready for release, most likely in mid-February 2024.

Let me know if you have any ideas related to moderation, and I will try to implement them.

Please wait...
