GD Knowledge Base Pro 3.3 is a major new release coming out on the plugin’s third birthday, with a lot of new features including new products page layout, news shortcodes, various improvements and bug fixes.
GD Knowledge Base Pro was released on June 20, 2015, with the goal to make it the core of the Dev4Press documentation, and an attempt to create full-featured knowledge base solution for WordPress. Over the past 3 years, the plugin has grown a lot, and this latest release takes it one step further.
The plugin has two new shortcodes: Tabber and Accordion. Implemented with CSS only, easy to style and responsive: tabber turns into accordion on small screens. And, tabber can be horizontal and vertical. Both tabber and accordion have the same structure, using TAB shortcode for all tabs included.
The content edit pages (articles, FAQ, user guides and references) are expanded with settings for Priority, that includes two options: Featured and Start With. Featured is only half there, you can set it, but the plugin will use this option in the next major version in the Autumn. Start With is reserved for one or two items related to the single product, and they will be displayed in the Start With the area in the product knowledge base page. This will help your users to quickly get the most important article or user guide for the product. And, product page can be set up to use Start With area and to switch the helpful content area to use tabs:
This version also includes updated libraries, various under the hood changes and improvements, and finally, several bugs are fixed: admin side missing update notices, and an issue with the content grids on the admin side and products that were removed.
