GD Knowledge Base Pro 3.4 is a new major release bringing support for the WordPress 5.0 with options to choose Block or Classic editor, various other improvements, changes and fixes.
With WordPress 5.0 fast approaching (already in Beta #2 stage), bringing the new Block Editor (Gutenberg merged into the core), GD Knowledge Base Pro plugin has been tested with the new WordPress, and it has gotten few settings related to it. Through plugin settings, you can choose the type of editor to use for each post type plugin adds. By default, we are sticking with the Classic Editor for now, but you can disable it, and use Block Editor instead. To use Block Editor, each post type has to have REST-API support enabled.
The plugin includes theme compatibility mode allowing the plugin to work with any theme. But, there are some themes that don’t use templates system like a normal theme, and the compatibility mode doesn’t work as expected. Themes like Oxygen 2 (and some other theme templates builders) rely on own templates system, and if you disable theme compatibility mode, you can then create templates the theme needs.
The plugin has two translations for German and Serbian, with the translation system improvements, updated strings and more. There are many minor under the hood improvements related to AJAX search and fixes to several bugs found in the last few weeks.
If you find any issues or bugs, please, report them in the support forum.
