New major release (but smaller in scope) for GD Press Tools Pro is here with version 5.8 (codename Cerberus), focusing on small updates and major rewrite related to import and export of plugin settings.
The plugin has completely rewritten the import and export process. The format for the export file has been changed, now using JSON format with additional information embedded into the file to make it easier for the plugin to import settings. Extra information is added to both Export and Import panels to help you understand how the export can be used. Also, new export is not compatible with older versions, and you can’t import settings made by older plugin versions, and you can’t use the new export file format on the older plugin version!
The debugger has been updated with few style changes (to better fit with some more aggressive themes) and under the hood improvements. Backup also had few tweaks related to files backup. And, few things are fixed, including issues with the export and import and missing sanitation for the events log bulk delete operation.
The plugin will celebrate 10 birthday next year, and we will celebrate with next major 6.0 version, scheduled for February of 2019, with improved backup, debugger and cleanup addons, new dashboard and about panels.
