GD Content Tools Pro 5.8: Braca

A brand new plugin version brings several new features, all requested by the plugin users, with various updates and improvements, PHP 7.4 related changes and several bugs fixed.

This version brings a few very important new features, and all these features were requested by the plugin users, so, if you have any more suggestions, please let me know. There are few more user requests that will be coming in the next version.

The plugin has a new meta field for images Gallery. You can select one or more images to add to the gallery, and the plugin will render it on the front end using WordPress’s own Gallery function.

Brand new Gallery meta field

Custom permalinks builder for custom post types now allows the use of meta fields in the permalinks structure. You can only use meta fields that have URL safe values. And, these panels now have buttons to clear permalinks rules in WordPress.

bbPress integration is improved, and any bbPress used metaboxes for the front end, will now be reflected on the admin side for inclusion in topics and replies editors. This way, even if you edit topics/replies on the admin side, you can see meta boxes, modify and save meta values just like on the frontend.

The new version fixes few issues with the post types and taxonomies core objects, and problems with the dimensions meta field.

To see the list of all the changes in this version, please check out the changelog. If you find any issues with the new version, please, report them in the support forums.

  1. hi
can you add a video field where we could use stella video player, elite video player, etc
or like drupal a field video where front end user has 3 choices : upload video from local (mp4), insert link or copy and paster code integration
    thank you

    • Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion. But, I don’t plan to include and maintain compatibility with such complex libraries. GD Content Tools Pro has a file upload field that can be used to upload videos, but you would need to implement a display of the video. I might include some easy use cases to display video using WordPress’s built-in media player. And, the plugin is made for metadata integration into the WordPress admin interface, not for the frontend (well, it has bbPress frontend integration, because bbPress has frontend content creation).

      Regards,
      Milan

  3. my favorite pluging , i purchased a long time ago, i must renewall. if i can remembre i used no longer because we can not use with filter and with multiple select field we had to insert value one to one. I had a big list of values in txt file and it was bad to insert one to one. but very good plugin.

    • Hey, since 5.5 (I think), select fields have bulk edit, so you can paste a longer list of values (even associated values).

      • OK great about filters? Did You add since latest version ( I purchased around 1 year ago)?

        • No filters yet. Unfortunately, this is not a very popular plugin, compared to many other of my plugins, so I have limited time to dedicate to it. I hope that changes soon, and I have quite a few ideas to implement.

          • Hi
I agree with previous comments. Filters are important.
I have an agency based on Joomla and WordPress tools.
Your content tool plug-in is popular ( we can see on ours forums) somes customers even say it is the new content construction kit for WordPress but they do not purchase because of the lack of filters integration.
