Major update for the SweepPress Pro plugin is here, bringing one new sweeper, new Database panel with information and control over database tables, various improvements and changes under the hood and more.
New sweeper added is Repair Tables – it can detect and attempt to repair broken or crashed database tables. A lot of updates are included in various parts of the plugin, many tweaks and updates, including updated optimization with additional options to control how the optimization is done.
But, the main new plugin feature is a brand new panel called ‘Database’, showing all tables in the database related to the current WordPress installation. This shows tables with detected tables source (WordPress or plugins), database engine, number of rows, size of table with the free space and index size, auto increment, created and updated dates and collation. Plugin detection is based on the predefined list of plugins and tables they create, and this will be expanded in the future.
From this panel you have options to Optimize and Repair tables if needed. But, it also has two advanced actions, both disabled – Truncate and Drop – and they can empty and delete most of the tables (some tables can’t be modified with these, or it would crash the website). If you don’t know what you are doing with these, do not enable these actions, or you will end up with broken website!
In the same time, free plugin version is also update, with the SweepPress 1.6 released, with various improvements and new Repair Tables sweeper too.
