A brand new release, version 7.3 of GD bbPress Toolbox Pro, is here, bringing bug fixes and updates to caching, Booster, and various other tools. The plugin uses the latest Dev4Press Library and has various updates to the interface.
The focus for version 7.3 is the Booster feature. Booster has been expanded with additional indexed data for forums and topics; it has its own dedicated admin panel (currently showing some statistics), and more queries are covered by it; overall, Booster has become very stable and, while still in Beta, can be used safely. The next plugin, version 7.4, will add more changes to the Booster, and Booster will be out of Beta. In the next few days, I will publish the article with the performance improvement analysis and exact gains from using Booster.
Regarding performance, a few more plugin features have received updates. Activity Tracking now runs fewer queries, forums hierarchy caching is improved, some custom views don’t run extra queries on each page load, and others can use Booster if active. Tool for Cleanup is expanded with reports cleanup; Tweaks Feature has a new tweak for setting the ‘Do Not Reply’ email used by bbPress mail functions. A few bugs related to the cleanup, subforums recalculations, custom views, and some ordering issues with Members and Thanks panels are fixed.
Version 7.4 should be ready before the end of this year (I hope to have it ready in early December), and the main focus will be on the Booster feature. Right now, only some things remain to be developed for Booster, including queries for subscriptions, favorites, updates code updates, and additional controls and settings. Please let me know via the comments or support forums if you have any more suggestions.
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s article about the Booster feature (with detailed information about the feature, performance gains and more) and the special discount deal for GD bbPress Toolbox Pro and bbPress Plugins Club license.
