SweepPress Pro 3.3

It has been exactly one year since the first release of the SweepPress plugin. Now, here is the brand new version, 3.3 bringing several new features (including 3 new sweepers), important updates, and fixes.

As a small nod to the release date, this release skipped the 3.2 version number and got to the 3.3 to celebrate one year of the plugin released on March 3, 2022. In the past year, the plugin has gotten a lot of new features, and this major update is no different; it has new sweepers, the log file, and various updates to the plugin interface.

The main interface update is the button to reveal the list of affected database tables, showing them in a better way than it was before, as you can see in the screenshot below.

Updates Sweep panel with 3 new GravityForms sweepers

The Pro version has 3 new sweepers for the cleanup of the GravityForms plugin data. If you do not have the Gravity Forms plugin installed, these 3 sweepers will not be visible. The plugin requires Gravity Forms 2.0 or newer to work. The added sweepers are:

  • Trashed Forms: delete all forms that are in the trash
  • Trashed Entries: delete all entries (each form is a task in this case) that are in the trash
  • Spammed Entries: delete all entries (each form is a task in this case) that are marked as spam

Both entries sweepers have options for a number of days to keep, so the plugin will skip new entries, and you can change this in plugin settings.

The next new feature is a file log. This log includes a list of all SQL queries plugin runs during the sweeping process for later analysis. The file is called sweeppress.log, and will be added to the wp-content directory if possible. The log is disabled by default, and you can enable it from the plugin Advanced settings panel.

Other changes include improved calculation of estimated size for sweeping, various optimizations, and tweaks for CSS and JS. As for bugs, there are several bugs fixed, including the issue with the comments sweeping when you have multiple comment types.

SweepPress Lite edition has also been updated to version 1.8, and it includes all the fixes from Pro, updates to the interface, and optimizations. GravityForms sweepers and the file log are not available in the Lite edition.
