Last week, the CoreSocial Pro plugin was released, and here is the first update already. The new version brings several bug fixes, updates to the share formats, updates to Facebook sharing, updates to blocks, and more.
The focus for version 1.1 was bug fixes, updates to network share formats, and updates to blocks. Some social networks, especially Twitter and Facebook, are known for having different methods of sharing URLs, they change the rules for that often, and they have deprecated share endpoints and many other requirements. So, the new plugin version switches Twitter share URL to the Intent endpoint to fix the mobile phone sharing issue. Facebook has an alternative share method using Application-based Share Dialog since the old legacy share method may be disabled soon. To make the new share dialog method work, you must register the Facebook application with Facebook/Meta Development and add a few more things to the plugin settings.
As for the blocks, the new update resolves several bugs and changes some critical elements of the Share block to ensure it works properly with the Full Site Editing themes. Some of the components used for the block settings have been updated and replaced, and a few more things were also updated.
The bug fixes list is quite expensive, with few critical bugs fixed and few related to the blocks, styling, and shortcodes. Please, report any new issues in the support forums, especially related to the use of blocks. And the plugin knowledge base is expanded with a few articles to help you with the plugin setup, use of blocks, and more. More articles are coming this week. If you need more help with the plugin, let me know.
